At LRFS, I have been responsible for all promotional photography in the lead up to the theme release. For the theme, Birth, directors wanted the promo video to be based around a photoshoot where models can celebrate their uniqueness and imperfections. We held the shoot at The Tetley, with a basic studio lighting set up, and had a very relaxed environment.

For the above shots, models were seen in their most venerable state, showing their imperfections to the camera, or posing in ways that were quite the opposite to everyday fashion photography. I was happy that we created an atmosphere where models could feel comfortable, empowered and admired. No retouching was done to the models, to encapsulate this theme.
On top of the studio based photos, the light in the room on this particular day happened to be so beautiful that I had to make the most of it. I asked models to sit or stand by the windows to capture the reality of the day more, without the lights and the backdrops, but just them, and the sun and the surroundings. I am really proud of the above shots, and look forward to making more honest, beautiful work like this.
